Invest with confidence in Switzerland. Without fearing the tax office.
You moved here, you invest, and now come the questions nobody warned you about. Is my capital gain really tax free? How do I get the 15% American withholding tax back? Did my trading just make me a "professional trader"? Swiss Tax Clarity gives you calculators and plain-English guides that answer exactly these questions, built for people who do not speak fluent tax German or French.
Free tools at launch. No spam, one email when we go live.
You know the feeling.
Everyone around you seems to have an opinion about ETFs. But when it comes to the Swiss side of investing, the confident voices go quiet. The tax return arrives and you are suddenly alone with questions like:
The official answers exist, in German legal circulars. The forum answers exist, from anonymous strangers who contradict each other. What does not exist is a place that takes your actual numbers and shows you, in English, what they mean.
That is what we are building.
Two tools at launch. Both free to try.
Tool 1: The US Withholding Tax Reclaim Estimator
Enter your US dividend income and your broker, and see in thirty seconds how much of the withheld 15% you can reclaim through the DA-1 procedure, what it is worth in francs, and the exact steps to claim it in your canton. Built especially for Interactive Brokers users, who get no Swiss tax statement from their broker and lose real money every year by skipping the form.
Tool 2: The Professional Trader Self-Check
The five official criteria the Swiss tax authorities use to decide whether your capital gains stay tax free, turned into a ten-question check. Answer honestly and see which criteria you meet, which you miss, and what the case-by-case factors are when the safe harbour does not apply. Based directly on the federal tax administration's own circular, cited line by line.
Coming next, in the order you vote for them: A wealth tax estimator for your canton. An American vs European fund comparison with the real tax numbers. Pillar 3a decision tools. Tell us on the waitlist form which one you need first.
Your numbers never leave your browser.
Every calculator runs entirely on your own device. We do not receive, store, or see the figures you enter. No account, no upload, no tracking of your financial life. We built it this way on purpose: tools about your money should not collect your money data.
Who is behind this.
Swiss Tax Clarity is built by a former investment professional with fifteen years in asset and wealth management in London and Geneva, who went through every one of these questions as an expat investor in Switzerland: the withholding tax reclaims, the professional trader assessment, the fund domicile decision, the wealth tax surprise. Every guide cites the law or official circular it relies on, with dates. Every calculation shows its assumptions. Nothing is hidden behind "trust us".
What this is, and what it is not.
Swiss Tax Clarity is financial education. The tools calculate, explain, and cite sources. They never tell you what to buy or sell, and they never assess what is right for your personal situation. Personal recommendations are regulated financial services in Switzerland, and this site deliberately stays on the education side of that line. For a personal recommendation, speak to a registered adviser; for your tax filing, a tax professional. What we promise instead: after using these tools, you will understand your own situation well enough to ask the right questions, or to act on your own judgement.
Be first to use the tools.
Launching autumn 2026. We will email you once at launch, and never sell or share your address.
